Our heroes must protect the Prince of the Sea, Manaphy, from the evil pirate Phantom, and return the young Pokémon to the Sea Temple with the help of the the People of the Water and Jackie the Pokémon Ranger.

O jovem treinador pokémon Ash Ketchum e seus amigos partem rumo à bela montanha de Greenfield, onde eles devem encontrar Unown, o mais misterioso de todos os pokémons. O motivo da busca é que Unown criou uma disputa mais instigante que qualquer outra batalha pokémon que Ash já tenha enfrentado.
