Yash Rangineni
Yash Rangineni (originally Yashodhar Rao Rangineni), was born on March 11th 1970. He hails from Telangana, India, and was born into a prominent Velama family. His affinity for movies originated in his childhood, influenced by his grandfather and father's support of local artists. His dedication to the arts led him to produce the highly successful Telugu film Pellichoopulu under the Big Ben Cinemas banner. The movie, featuring mostly newcomers and a debut director, starred Yash's nephew, Vijay Deverakonda, who also marked his first appearance as a lead actor. He went on to bag many awards for the film including the Best Feature Film (Telugu) at 64th National Film Awards for his banner BigBen Cinemas, 2016 Filmfare Award for Best Film - Telugu, and the 2016 Nandi Award for Best Feature Film. Some of the other successful productions are Dear Comrade, Dorasani, ABCD Telugu, Bhaag Saale and Annapurna Photo Studio in 2023. During the pre-independence era, Yash Rangineni's grandfather served as a Zamindar, overseeing seven villages under princely state of Kollapur Samastanam. Yash's father, Rangineni Gopal Rao, was an esteemed scholar and educator, known as one of the first graduates from the Velama community in Mahabub Nagar district. He possessed exceptional fluency in English and Urdu, fostering strong relationships with the Hyderabad Nizam's family. Yash's mother, Pramila Devi Rangineni, was a devout practitioner of Hinduism, renowned for her generosity and charitable endeavors, as well as her poetic compositions dedicated to Lord Krishna. After completing his education at Osmania University in Hyderabad, Yash ventured to London, United Kingdom, at the age of 22 to pursue higher studies with only £500 in his pocket. Overcoming numerous challenges, including instances of racism, Yash completed an MBA in Marketing & Sales and subsequently held various senior management positions in multiple organizations. Currently, he works as a Primary Care Network Managing Director for England's NHS (National Health Service) and Commissioning health services. Yash has been residing in London for the past 30 years with his wife, Priya Rangineni and two daughters. The Blockbuster Telugu movie #Pellichoopulu which broke all records in terms of return on investment (collected 5 million US dollars world wide) and screened 100 days consecutively in Hyderabad. This was Yash' s debut production which he produced under BigBen Cinemas banner with almost all new comers and a first time director. The hero of the movie Vijay Deverakonda is also happened to be his own nephew and also his first as a Hero as well.
